A bridge is a perfect way to
illustrate the power of the gospel
Bridges Connect

The picture shows a BASE jumper floating safely after jumping from the Perrine Bridge, a fall of 486 feet. He/she did so as a calculated risk, trusting in their parachute and the physics behind their equipment. Faith in God is not a blind leap of faith. Trust in God is a calculated decision based on the evidences of creation, our own conscience and the witness of history. We sense there is a problem, but don’t readily recognize what it is. The problem is what the Bible calls sin. Sin alienates us from our Creator, our purpose and wears at the core of our being. We want to be better than we are.
“I am the way, the truth and the life.
Jesus – John 14:6
Jesus Christ came to bridge the gap between where we are and what we were made for. He fulfilled His mission by dying on the cross as a sin offering on our behalf.
The result of His death and resurrection from the dead is that God is able and very willing to bring reconciliation to any and all who trust in Him. Through Jesus Christ God restores, forgives, cleanses and reconciles.

“I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, the the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
The Apostle Paul – Romans 1:16
HOW CAN A PERSON CROSS THE BRIDGE TO LIFE?
How can a person cross the bridge to life?
Agree with God’s testimony that you are a sinner and in need of forgiveness and reconciliation. To confess is to agree with what God has said regarding our condition. Ephesians 2:1-8 explains our condition and God’s solution.
Believe in Jesus Christ as God’s Son and Savior. Romans 10:9-10
Commit your life to Jesus Christ as Lord, trusting that as you follow Him He will lead you to a completely new life. Colossians 2:6-7
Faith is like crossing the bridge. You must trust that it will hold you from danger, and you must commit yourself to it before it can serve its purpose. Likewise, believing in Jesus is not simply acknowledging He exists, it is committing yourself to Him as an act of your will. It means being willing to face the changes this will cause in your life and not turning back in fear of difficulty.
